1. The “Directors Assist Portrait Program” allows funeral homes to provide beautiful, frames, canvas portraits of the deceased in a simple 3 step process: A. The funeral home scans the photo(s) and emails it to Keepsake Creations. B. Keepsake’s graphic artists enhance the photo(s) by removing unwanted people and backgrounds and emails this back to the home, almost always within two business hours of the time the image was received C. The funeral home then prints and frames the portrait using the printer and instructions that have been set up in advance. The funeral home’s step do not require advanced computer skills and can normally be accomplished in less than ˝ hour.

2. We offer three types of portraits:  The 11x14 framed, canvas portrait, the canvas Panel Portrait which can be inserted in the panel area of the casket, and the 8.5x11 framed luster portrait.

3. We recommend that funeral homes give families the first portrait to create goodwill and generate reorders, which will give the home additional profit. (Some homes report that reorders occur at virtually every funeral.)  Others prefer to "bundle" the service with another, such as the register book.

4. Once the equipment is in place, (at a cost of around $1,000 for the 11x14 and panel, or $200 for the 8.5x11 Luster program), the ongoing cost of providing Keepsake Portraits is normally less than $45 for an 11x14 portrait, less than $65 for a panel portrait and $36 for the 8.5x11 portrait.

5. When a family first places a call, the funeral home should recommend that the family bring in several photos of the deceased. This will allow the funeral home to help select an in focus photo and to proceed with an order without waiting for a family to come back with photos.

10. There are several important differences: Keepsake Creations is the only company that offers the 11x14, 8.5x11 and Panel portraits. Keepsake’s Directors Assist program provides a proven means of increasing a funeral home’s profits.  We have created well over 7,000 portraits for funeral homes across the country.  It has been reported to us that offering the portrait at no charge to a family, (but charging for reorders) is the best way to proceed with this program.  Reorders alone may pay for the cost of the initial portrait, and the good will and word of mouth significantly enhances the reputation of a home.  One home actually does ongoing marketing research into why their homes are chosen, and our portraits were cited as the number one reason, except for legacies.
